No. Reserving is free and commits you to nothing. The address becomes usable once you own an XMAILBOX box — the second-generation model is planned for Kickstarter. We will email you before launch.
So nobody can hold hundreds of names with fake addresses. An unconfirmed reservation is released after 48 hours.
On your own box. Outgoing mail passes through our relay servers (Singapore and US) so it reaches the inbox; the relay forwards mail and does not keep a copy.
Yes. XMAILBOX works with your own domain, and an @xmailbox.email address can be moved to your own domain later.
Personal @xmailbox.email addresses share one domain. The limit makes spamming pointless and protects delivery for everyone. Your own domain is not subject to this limit.
We use it only for this reservation and launch updates. Every email we send has a link to cancel the reservation and delete your data.
